Frequently Asked Questions

Every situation is different, which is why we start with a free consultation.

We’ll review your tax records, income, and current standing with the IRS to determine which programs you actually qualify for. No guessing, no false promises.

You’ll speak directly with a licensed Enrolled Agent who will review your tax situation, explain your options, and outline realistic next steps.

You’ll leave the call knowing exactly where you stand and what comes next.

Offer in Compromise (OIC)

An OIC is an IRS program allowing you to settle your tax debt for less than the full amount owed. If you can't pay in full and meet IRS criteria.

  • Eligibility: Debt exceeds ability to pay within the statue of limitations. The calculations would be made using IRS standards.
  • Process: Submit the required forms and supporting documentation.
  • Timeline: The process takes about 5 months but could be shorter or longer depending on the IRS workload.
  • Pros: Big reduction possible.
  • The previous six years returns must be filed if required.
  •  Must be current with estimated tax payments if required.

Currently Not Collectible (CNC)

  • CNC temporarily halts IRS collection actions (levies, garnishments) because paying would leave you unable to cover basic living expenses.
  • Eligibility: Prove financial hardship (income/expenses vs. IRS standards).
  • Process: Submit required forms and supporting documentation.
  • Timeline: CNC can be accepted in a short time frame.
  • Pros: Immediate relief, no payments. If you remain in hardship status until the statute of limitations run out the debt will be cancelled.

Installment Agreement (IA)

An IA lets you pay tax debt in monthly installments over time.

  • Eligibility: All returns for the previous six years must be filed if required.
  • Process: Submit application.
  • If the IRS requests more than you can afford the IA may be able to be lowered by submitting financials.
  •  Pros: Affordable payments; stops collections.

We can review your existing plan and determine whether it can be improved or renegotiated. Many clients find better options once we reassess their full situation.

Yes. In many cases, we can contact the IRS directly to pause or release a garnishment while we work on your resolution plan. Acting quickly is key.

You’re not alone — we help clients catch up on unfiled returns every week.
We’ll help you get compliant quickly so the IRS can consider your relief options.

Your initial consultation is completely free.

Once we understand your situation, we’ll give you a clear estimate based on the actual work involved. No hidden fees, no pressure.

That depends on your case complexity and IRS processing times.

Some resolutions are completed in a few weeks; others take a few months.

Our goal is to move as quickly as possible while keeping accuracy and approval in focus.

No. The tax resolution process itself does not impact your credit score.

In fact, resolving your tax issues can often help you rebuild financial stability and prevent future damage.

Every case is personally handled by Ron Larson, EA, LTC. licensed Enrolled Agent authorized to represent taxpayers before the IRS.

You’ll always speak with the same professional — not a call center.

We don’t apply pressure or inflate results.

We calculate what you qualify for based on real IRS standards, explain it clearly, and only take cases we know we can help resolve.

You don’t need to be. We’ve helped clients at every stage of tax trouble — and we handle every case with respect and confidentiality.

Our goal is to help you move forward, not judge the past.

If you’ve been hit with late-filing, late-payment, or accuracy penalties within the past three years, the IRS offers a First-Time Abatement (FTA) — a one-time waiver that can erase 100% of eligible penalties, often with a refund check.
